On a Class of Multiple Failure Mode Systems

چکیده
The primary objective of this work is to introduce and perform a detailed study of a class of multistate reliability structures in which no ordering in the levels of components’ performances is necessary. In particular, the present paper develops the basic theory (exact reliability formulae, reliability bounds, asymptotic results) that will make it feasible to investigate systems whose components are allowed to experiencem ≥ 2 kinds of failure (failure modes) and their breakdown is described by different families of cut sets in each mode. For illustration purposes, two classical (binary) systems are extended to analogous multiple failure mode structures and their reliability performance (bounds and asymptotic behaviour) is investigated by numerical experimentation.

Observer Based Fuzzy Terminal Sliding Mode Controller Design for a Class of Fractional Order Chaotic Nonlinear Systems
This paper presents a new observer based fuzzy terminal sliding mode controller design for a class of fractional order nonlinear systems. Robustness against uncertainty and disturbance, the stability of the close loop system and the convergence of both the tracking and observer errors to zero are the merits of the proposed the observer and the controller. The high gain observer is applied to es...
متن کاملIndirect Adaptive Interval Type-2 Fuzzy PI Sliding Mode Control for a Class of Uncertain Nonlinear Systems
Controller design remains an elusive and challenging problem foruncertain nonlinear dynamics. Interval type-2 fuzzy logic systems (IT2FLS) incomparison with type-1 fuzzy logic systems claim to effectively handle systemuncertainties especially in the presence of disturbances and noises, but lack aformal mechanism to guarantee performance. In contrast, adaptive sliding modecontrol (ASMC) provides...
متن کاملTackling uncertainty in safety risk analysis in process systems: The case of gas pressure reduction stations
Industrial plants are subjected to very dangerous events. Therefore, it is very essential to carry out an efficient risk and safety analysis. In classical applications, risk analysis treats event probabilities as certain data, while there is much penurious knowledge and uncertainty in generic failure data that will lead to biased and inconsistent alternative estimates. Then, in order to achieve...

This paper deals with the issues of sensor fault detection for a class of Lipschitz uncertain nonlinear system. By definition coordinate transformation matrix for system states and output system, at first the original system divided into two subsystems. the first subsystem includes uncertainties but without any sensor faults and the second subsystem has sensor faults but is free of uncertaintie...
متن کاملModified Sliding-Mode Control Method for Synchronization a Class of Chaotic Fractional-Order Systems with Application in Encryption
In this study, we propose a secure communication scheme based on the synchronization of two identical fractional-order chaotic systems. The fractional-order derivative is in Caputo sense, and for synchronization, we use a robust sliding-mode control scheme. The designed sliding surface is taken simply due to using special technic for fractional-order systems. Also, unlike most manuscripts, the ...
متن کاملDesign of robust fuzzy Sliding-Mode control for a class of the Takagi-Sugeno uncertain fuzzy systems using scalar Sign function
This article presents a fuzzy sliding-mode control scheme for a class of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy which are subject to norm-bounded uncertainties in each subsystem. The proposed stabilization method can be adopted to explore T-S uncertain fuzzy systems (TSUFS) with various local control inputs. Firstly, a new design is proposed to transform TSUFS into sliding-mode dynamic systems. In addi...
